Erik entered the United States Marine Corps in 2004. He served on active duty until 2008 when he was honorably discharged. During his four years of service he served as a Sergeant at Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA. He was stationed at HMX-1 security (Marine One) and oversaw the security of the presidential helicopter squadron during the George Bush administration.
After moving back home in 2008, he enrolled at NCCC and completed his Associates degree in Criminal Justice. he then transferred to Buffalo State College where he completed his Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice in 2013.
After his military service, Erik pursued a career as a professional mixed martial Artist. We won the King of the Cage world title in 2018 In front of his home town crowd at the Niagara Falls Casino. He was the founder of Victory MMA, a popular local martial arts gym. He is now part owner and coach at WNY MMA.
He also coached wrestling at North Tonawanda High school from 2009-2014. During that time he also served as the chairman of the North Tonawanda Wrestling Wall of Fame. He now holds a seat on the North Tonawanda school board with a 2018-2021 term. He serves on the district audit committee and played a key roll in instituting a School Resource Officer (SRO) in the district.
Erik has been employed by our local police department full time since 2013. He currently serves as a patrolman and a SWAT team member with an active roll in the NTPBA police Union.
He is married to his wife Diana who owns and operates a local NT business (Empower Boutique) and is an advocate for successful professional women. Erik and Diana have two children and are active in many local charities and organizations.
